报告简介:In nature, communication sounds among animal species including humans are typical complex sounds that occur in sequence and vary with time in several parameters including amplitude, frequency, duration as well as separation and order of individual sounds. How are the sounds produced, received and deciphered to generate appropriate behavioral response is essential for survival of many animal species in acoustic world. In this presentation, the physics of sound, sound production mechanisms and contribution of outer, middle and inner parts of human ear during sensory transduction of sound stimuli will be discussed. Research data will be presented to highlight the coordination of the vocal and auditory systems during sound production and reception using bats as mammalian model. Modulation of acoustic signal processing and coordination of vocal, auditory and motor systems underlying acoustic-guided orientation will be discussed.
